Hot Dogs with Sweet & Sour Onions
My take on a recipe I found. Use it to top a hotdog, sausage, etc...

Ingredients
- 2 Tb Butter
- 1 Vidalia Onion Sliced into rings
- 1 Red Onion Sliced into rings
- 1/4 C Ketchup
- 1 Tb Red Wine Vinegar
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce
- 1 Tb Cilantro chopped

Instructions
- Over Medium heat melt 2 Tb butter in a Sauce pan and add the Onion rings. Season with a little Salt and Pepper. Stir to sweat them down until soft. about 15 minutes
- In a small bowl mix the Ketchup, Red Wine Vinegar, Sugar and Hot Sauce
- When the Onions are done stir the sauce in and allow to continue cooking for about 3 more minutes
- Serve the Dogs with some Mild English Mustard, topped with the Onions and a sprinkling of chopped Cilantro
Recipe Notes
I like to fry my Hot Dogs in a tablespoon of melted butter to crisp up the skin.
