Ron Paul Supporters – Cutting their Nose off…

That same deranged Ron Paul Supporter wrote to show that he is happy to cut his nose off.

Hey John … here’s a something about your vote not counting … my theory about that is this … take a look at the videos …

1.  If I vote for the ‘normal’ favorite candidate and he wins or loses … either way I’ve pissed off my vote because it is not something I really think is good for the country … it’s sorta the lesser of two evils … however, …
ÂÂ
2.  If I vote for the candidate of my choice … Ron Paul … my vote counts if he wins … if he loses … I’m no worse off that if one of the favorites win … but again … by some stroke of fortune if he wins … WE ALL WIN …

3.  Our votes don’t really count anyway … it’s all rigged … LOL …

That is about the dumbest “rationalization” that I have every heard.

Let’s look at it from the Primary Election standpoint. and for the sake of argument let’s limit it to three candidates.

Candidate 1 = You are totally agaisnt him winning your “Parties” nomination
Candidate 2 = You agree with some positions and disagree with other.
Candidate 3 = You LOVE everything he stands for but he is polling at 2% and has no hope of actually winning.

You vote for Candidate 3.  Other friends of yours also vote for Candidate 3 splitting off votes that could have gone to Candidate 2 resulting in Candidate 1 winning.

Now we move to the General Election

Party 1 = Hillary
Party 2 = Candidate 1

You had already decided that Candidate 1 would not get your vote.  There is no way that you will vote for the other Party so with an Electorate split almost 50/50 your sitting on your hands and throwing a temple tantrum results in Hillary winning.

Same thing applies if Candidate 3 runs as an “Independent” and splits off votes from Candidate 1.  Hillary wins.

That is the definition of Cutting off your nose to spite your face.
